August Waitlist Numbers!

It's that time again...

And while it's only been four months of waiting, it seems like an eternity!  We officially began our adoption on September 27, 2010, yet it was on our hearts long before this.  So, it seems like we've been waiting for such a long time.  Each day, however, as we try to wait in patience, we are reminded of God's perfect timing, and that He is leading us to the child He has already chosen for us.

While we wait, we've been having lots of summer fun...

Ella learning to ride her bike!

To keep you all up-to-date:
At the beginning of the month, we learned that the Ethiopian government closed down several orphanages in the southern region of Ethiopia, some of which had working relationships with our agency, All God's Children, and would refer children to be adopted to Hannah's Hope (run by our agency and where we'll be getting our referral).  To read more about these closures, visit the US Department of State's notice page.

These closures may effect our timeline, but the effects won't be clear until things play out a bit more.

Additionally, Ethiopia's court system traditionally closes for about a month or so around this time of year.  We've been told that they just closed, so we're not anticipating much movement over the next month or so.

Nonetheless, we're still on course, and more confident than ever in God's providential hand in our adoption.  It's so important in times like these to hold onto those gems found in the bible like Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God."  How comforting to know that He is in control, and that it'll all happen when He allows it to!  In the meantime, we'll be sure to make many more memories along the way...

Blessings to you all!
