Helping the World's Orphans

"Defend the weak and the fatherless;
uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed."
Psalm 82:3

Each and every one of us are called to be the hand and feet of God!  With 147 million orphans in the world, we all need to pool our efforts to take care of these children who are often forgotten.  These are children, who live and breath, who hurt and cry, who love and want to be loved.

Not all of us are called to adopt, but we are all called to "defend the weak and the fatherless" (Psalm 82:3).  Whether through adoption, going on mission trips intended to help orphans, getting involved in foster care, becoming an advocate for the orphan, or donating your time, resources or money to the cause of the orphan.  We can all do something!  We are all called to love, and when taking on the cause of the orphan, you are sharing the love of Christ with those most in need and those most vulnerable!

Ultimately, however, try not to think about this issue as a "humanitarian effort" or a "cause" to support.  These are children.  They need love.  They need food.  They need a home. They need to be touched by loving hands.   They need a daddy.  They need a mommy.  They need a forever family!
What will you do to make this happen?  What will you do to support and love those most vulnerable and helpless?  What will you do to ensure that their future is bright, and that their past will not determine their future?
Practical ways to get involved:
  • Adopt one of these amazing little children and give them a hope and a future!
  • Support someone who is adopting!
  • Provide financial assistance to a reputable non-profit whose mission is to help the orphans of the world. One such organization is our agency, All God's Children.
  • Go on a mission trip.  AGCI organizes trips throughout the year to various countries.
  • Become a foster family.
  • Donate items to be taken to orphanages.
There are so many ways to help!  Too many to list here, but if you are interested, do some research, and if you need help, we'd be happy to find ways to help!

Thank you!
